Held annually in Ibiza in collaboration with Fantasía Ibiza Festival, ROLA combines a film festival, cultural gathering, and awards ceremony that honours filmmakers, musicians, artists, and creators whose work actively contributes to human flourishing. At a time when the next generation is watching closely what society chooses to celebrate, ROLA seeks to shine a light on individuals and projects creating meaningful impact through culture and creativity.
From 26–31 May, ROLA Ibiza 2026 brought together international guests, performers, thought leaders, and change makers across a series of experiences throughout Ibiza. The week culminated in a special evening at Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, where live music, speeches, awards, and performances came together against one of the island’s most iconic backdrops.
The Shop Productions — Full Production Across Ibiza
The Shop Productions delivered full production services throughout the ROLA Ibiza 2026 event week, supporting the technical and logistical requirements across multiple venues and experiences.
The role of The Shop Productions included stage construction, technical production, audio systems, lighting, power distribution, LED screens, logistics planning, supplier coordination, and on-site production management.
The highlight of the week was the closing celebration at Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site. Producing within such a historic environment requires careful planning and technical precision. Every structure, technical element, and production decision must respect both the location and the audience experience.
For Dalt Vila, The Shop Productions designed and built the complete stage environment, creating a production capable of supporting speeches, live performances, presentations, and musical acts throughout the evening.
PK Sound — Flexible Systems for Complex Environments
For the Dalt Vila stage, The Shop Productions chose to work with PK Sound, one of the most innovative manufacturers in professional audio technology.
PK Sound has become known throughout the live events industry for its robotic line array technology, allowing engineers to remotely adjust loudspeaker coverage after installation. Through PK .dynamics software, the vertical and horizontal dispersion of the system can be widened, narrowed, and optimised in real time without physically repositioning the speakers.
This level of control creates greater flexibility, faster adaptation to changing programme requirements, and more precise sound distribution throughout a venue.
For events that combine speeches, presentations, awards, and live music on the same stage, these capabilities become particularly valuable.
PK Sound at Dalt Vila — Power, Control, and Speech Clarity
The ROLA Ibiza 2026 stage was designed to host a wide variety of program elements throughout the evening.
Unlike a traditional concert setup, the event moved continuously between award presentations, speeches, live performances, and musical acts. Fast turnovers were essential, with presenters and performers moving on and off stage throughout the show.
One of the key production challenges involved the positioning of the lecterns. Located directly in front of the stage, they would traditionally sit underneath the coverage area of the main PA system. In many situations this can increase the risk of microphone feedback and create challenges for speech intelligibility.
This is where PK Sound’s robotic control technology became particularly valuable.
Using the system’s adjustable coverage capabilities, we were able to narrow the sound field and reduce coverage from the lower cabinets during speech segments. This allowed us to minimise unwanted energy around the lectern positions while maintaining clear and focused audio coverage for the audience.
The result was exceptional speech intelligibility throughout the evening, without compromising the power, impact, and musicality required for the live performances that followed.
At the same time, the flexibility of the system provided valuable space and freedom during turnovers, allowing presenters, musicians, and technical teams to transition efficiently between programme elements.
For a multi-format event such as ROLA, the ability to move seamlessly between spoken-word content and live performances made PK Sound an ideal solution.

His work explores themes of consciousness, spirituality, healing, and human connection, creating immersive musical experiences that resonate far beyond traditional genre boundaries.
Over the past decade, Alex Serra has developed a distinctive artistic voice, combining organic instrumentation, rich vocal textures, and influences gathered from travels throughout Latin America, Africa, and Asia. The result is music that feels both intimate and universal.
Performing within the historic walls of Dalt Vila, his set perfectly reflected the spirit of ROLA Ibiza 2026. As the audience gathered beneath the illuminated UNESCO World Heritage Site, his performance created a powerful moment of reflection, connection, and collective presence.
