The 17th edition of the International Music Summit once again brought together the global electronic music industry in Ibiza. From daytime discussions at the 3-day IMS conference to the iconic closing event at Dalt Vila, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Across multiple days, locations, and audiences, the challenge is always the same: deliver consistent, high-quality production in completely different spaces, each with its own technical demands.

IMS Conference — Shaping the Conference Environment
The IMS conference sets the tone for the week, bringing together leading figures from across the global electronic music industry for talks, panels, networking, and live sessions. The 17th edition featured a diverse program of speakers, artists, and industry leaders, creating a dynamic environment that requires precision at every level of production.
The Shop Productions delivered full technical production across the conference, managing setup and load-out for nine different areas within the venue. This included audio, staging, LED screens, backline, conference setup, and technical coordination, as well as branding integration, logistics planning, and the management of third-party suppliers throughout the event.
Each space had its own function and requirements, from main talks and panel discussions to more informal networking and broadcast areas. In these environments, sound isn’t about volume — it’s about distribution and clarity. Every word needs to land cleanly, transitions need to run smoothly, and each area needs to feel considered and consistent within the overall experience.

PK Sound — Flexible Systems for Complex Environments
For IMS 2026, we worked with PK Sound, a brand known for pushing the boundaries of live audio technology.
Their systems are built for speed of deployment and to adapt to the acoustic challenges of any venue. What sets PK Sound apart is its robotic control system. Through PK .dynamics software, arrays can be adjusted remotely via iPad or phone — allowing real-time control over coverage and direction without the need for physical repositioning.
Among PK Sound’s Board of Directors is Conrad Whelan, the founding engineer behind Uber and the founding CTO of Nillion – a testament to the company’s focus on cutting-edge, innovation-led technology.
This level of flexibility allows for faster setup, more accurate tuning, and a cleaner integration into the space.
Conference Setup — Clarity and Coverage
At the main entrance, Tx14 point-source loudspeakers were positioned alongside the LED screens, delivering clear and consistent audio for arriving guests. With onboard DSP, controlled directivity, and strong output, they ensured speech and content translated cleanly in a high-traffic environment.
For the radio station and broadcast corner, hosting platforms such as Pure Ibiza Sonica, and Global Radio, we used a combination of Tx26 loudspeakers and T18 subwoofers. This setup provided a compact but powerful system — balancing clarity for speech with enough depth and low-end presence for live music, DJ sets, and recorded content.
The flexibility of the Tx Series allowed us to adapt quickly to each space, maintaining consistent audio quality across different setups throughout the conference.

IMS Dalt Vila — Sound at Scale
The closing event at Dalt Vila demands a completely different level of scale and precision.
Set within a UNESCO World Heritage site, the space demands careful planning and precise execution. It’s a large-scale open-air environment, where sound needs to travel, remain controlled, and deliver impact without overwhelming the surroundings.
The Shop Productions delivered full production for the event, building a system that could support a world-class lineup including Pete Tong, Eliza Rose, Ahmed Spins, ANKHOÏ, and a powerful closing performance from Faithless Sound System.

PK Sound at Dalt Vila — Power, Control, and Precision
For Dalt Vila, we deployed a PK Sound system using T8 robotic line source modules combined with T18 subwoofers.
The T8 system delivered high-output, long-throw performance with extremely precise control. Thanks to its multi-axis robotic technology, coverage could be adjusted remotely, allowing us to fine-tune the system in real time, even after installation.
This level of control is especially important in a location like Dalt Vila, where sound needs to be directed accurately to the audience while respecting the surrounding environment.
The T18 subwoofers provided powerful, clean low-end reinforcement, delivering depth and energy to the performances without losing definition.
Together, the system created a balanced and immersive sound experience — combining clarity, power, and control for the artists.

Delivering Across Two Worlds
What makes IMS unique is the shift between environments — from controlled indoor conference spaces to a large-scale outdoor performance at Dalt Vila.
Each requires a different approach, but the expectation remains the same: consistency, quality, and control.
For The Shop Productions, IMS 2026 was about delivering across both worlds — adapting systems, managing complexity, and ensuring that every part of the event, from panel discussions to headline performances, sounded exactly as it should.
Simeon Friend, Founder of The Shop Productions: “We have been extremely impressed with the PK range of audio products. In particular, to swap out our trusted d&b monitoring system for the PK sounds t8 range shows our trust in the system and confidence to put it in front of some of the most demanding artists in the world”.
