50 Years of Amnesia: A Celebration Under the Open Sky
This year, Amnesia celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of music, culture, and unforgettable moments that have shaped Ibiza’s nightlife. For the Amnesia 50th Anniversary Production in Ibiza, The Shop Productions delivered the full outdoor festival production, transforming the club’s car park into a spectacular open-air setting.
For this milestone, Amnesia secured a special licence to host an outdoor festival in its car park — a unique celebration bringing the spirit of the club’s early years back to life.
The outdoor programme was designed as a tribute to Amnesia’s beginnings, when dancing on the island took place beneath the open sky.
The specially created 50th Anniversary Area welcomed Amnesia resident Luca Donzelli, followed by a series of back-to-back performances. Alisha joined Julian Fijma, Groove Armada went back-to-back with Max Dean, and Kolter teamed up with Traumer. Joseph Capriati took over the sunset slot, creating a defining moment in this historic celebration.

Amnesia 50th Anniversary Production by The Shop Productions
The Shop Productions was responsible for the full production of the outdoor festival area, transforming Amnesia’s car park into a large-scale festival environment.
Our involvement covered the entire technical production process, from initial site visits, engineering, and technical drawings to structural construction, installation, and on-site execution.
At the centre of the production stood a striking 12-metre-high, custom-made red pyramid, designed and built specifically for the anniversary celebration.
Alongside the stage construction, our team developed the lighting and video design, integrating projection mapping and architectural lighting elements throughout the outdoor environment. To further transform the setting, we brought in large trees weighing five tonnes each, using a 14-tonne crane to lift and position them on site. These impressive natural elements helped reshape the industrial car park into a distinctive outdoor festival space.
Every element, from the large-scale structures to the smallest technical details, was carefully coordinated to create a complete festival experience.

The 12-Metre Custom Pyramid – Engineering with Prolyte
One of the most technically ambitious elements of the project was the construction of an 12-metre-high, custom-engineered pyramid, created as the architectural centrepiece of the outdoor stage.
The challenge lay in achieving the pyramid’s precise geometry while integrating different structural systems.
Working closely with Prolyte, we developed a bespoke engineering solution using unique structural components fabricated specifically for this project. These custom-made parts had to integrate seamlessly with our existing in-house rental stock of Prolyte S52 trussing.

The angles were critical. Connecting the Prolyte truss system with our Layher Allround system required precise engineering, particularly at the connection points where the two systems met. Every angle and structural connection had to be calculated and manufactured to ensure the pyramid could be assembled exactly as designed.
Adding to the complexity was the extremely tight turnaround. The Shop Productions had only a few weeks to complete the engineering, coordinate the manufacturing of the custom components with Prolyte, and prepare the official structural calculations and static report.
Through close collaboration with the Prolyte engineering and manufacturing team, we successfully brought the structure from technical drawings to reality within the limited timeframe. The result was an exceptional custom-built structure that combined engineering precision with a powerful architectural design. We were extremely pleased with the final result and the outstanding support and service provided by the Prolyte team throughout the process.

Red Mirror Acrylic Cladding, Integrated Lighting & Precision Installation
The pyramid’s striking red appearance was achieved using reflective red mirror-finish acrylic panels cladding, custom-fitted around its four structural legs and integrated lighting fixtures.
The level of detailing required was substantial. A team of six carpenters worked for six days to clad the structure, carefully shaping and fitting the reflective panels around the lighting equipment while maintaining the pyramid’s clean architectural lines.
The integrated lighting included 50 ACME Pixel Lines and 50 Ayrton fixtures, creating a dynamic visual feature that worked together with the reflective red surfaces.

Two of the pyramid’s legs were assembled and connected at ground level before being lifted and moved into position as one structure. The assembly was reinforced with cross-braced truss sections, allowing the connected legs to be carefully lowered into their exact position and secured using connecting pins.
With the pyramid’s unique angles and custom-manufactured connection points, precision was essential throughout the entire installation. The finished structure brought together bespoke engineering, custom fabrication, architectural cladding, and integrated lighting in one monumental stage design.
Making History Together with Amnesia
Amnesia’s 50th anniversary was an exceptional project to be part of, both for its significance to Ibiza’s music culture and for the technical ambition behind the production.
From transforming a car park into an outdoor festival to engineering a 12-metre-high custom pyramid within just a few weeks, the project brought together everything that defines The Shop Productions: technical expertise, creative problem-solving, precision, and a commitment to delivering ambitious ideas.
Simeon Friend, production manager of The Shop Productions: “A special thanks to the entire Amnesia team for the collaboration and trust, and to Prolyte for their expertise and excellent support throughout the engineering and manufacturing process”.
